For all the years she lived in the Valley June was an active member of Amnesty International -Group 82. She was the leader snd the authority on Capital Punishment, a subject she led us through letter writing every few weeks. She also welcomed the group to her home many times. There was a lovely view from every window. She was such a faithful member, Amnesty was never the same after she moved. Sylvia Bell

June and I were members of the same book club for many years. We all appreciated her sweet and gentle nature. She always read the monthly book assignment and she always came prepared with notes. One of our all time favourite books was a recommendation of June’s. She was so easy to talk to, so open about her life, her own struggles and happy times. It was impossible not to love her. We have missed her greatly and will continue to do so but I feel that her gentle spirit is always with us.

I had the privilege of providing care for June. I witnessed June's struggles and accomplishments. We learned from each other. She made me laugh and inspired me with her courage to always persevere. June was a friend to many of the residents and cared for them as she did so brilliantly for others throughout her life. She was simply an amazing person. I will miss you June. Wendy

One of June’s favourite places to gather with her Thornbury Book Club was Maryholme Retreat Centre on Lake Simcoe. We will celebrate her life among us when we gather once again there in 3 weeks.
