Bob, we've come here to honor you. To share sweet recollections and express our love and gratitude. You were a great example of the best way one can live. My deepest condolences, really wish a had stopped in the last time I was in ottawa. You will truly be missed . Lol years ago we were in star top restaurant, we were sitting in a booth my dad was beside me and Bob was across from me. Never paid much attention, he was stirring and stirring he coffee, lol he looks out the window and says what's that and stuck the spoon on my neck. My path crossed Bob’s path quite a few times and every time it was a pleasant and learning experience. I was first struck by his large smile and even larger personality. I always looked forward to speaking with him whenever the chance arised. Bob will always have a special place in my memory.

My sincere condolences to Carolyn, all of Bob's children, and their families. I know the great loss you feel with his passing. I met Bob in the early 80's as we both enjoyed a Saturday morning breakfast at Mommas restaurant, which usually didn't finish until noon or maybe even 1pm. We had some great conversations back then. At first I never really knew if he liked me or wanted to tear my head off, (lol) he was a bit hard to read back then. But at the same time he was ready to help anyone out any time any where. Although our paths didn't cross very often as years sped by, I held much respect for this man and the way he carried himself through life. We have all lost a good friend today, the community has lost a great supporter, the industry has lost a great compedater and busman, and the world has lost a wonderful human being. Rest In Peace Mr. Robert Gourlay
