Obituary of Tara Moulton

(nee Thorvaldson)

 

With heavy hearts the family announces that Tara passed away suddenly at home in Arnprior on Friday evening, June 7, 2024. She was 67.

 

Beloved wife of Dr. Richard “Rick” Moulton for just over 45 years.

Proud and loving “Mum” of Sean Moulton of Iqaluit, Leigh Moulton (Phil Bourcier) of Arnprior and Jack Moulton of London, ON.

Cherished “Gran”, grandma of Wyatt.

Dear sister of Kevin Thorvaldson (Robin), Deirdre Zlomanchuk (Lawrence) and Sheilagh Blight (Larry).

Special aunt of Kyle, Chelsea, Braden, Carter, Colin and Alexander.

Tara was predeceased by her niece, Kirsten, as well as three brothers: Sean (Margie), Brendan (Mara) and Brian.

Daughter of the late Wallace “Rocky” and Phoebe Thorvaldson.

 

Tara was a passionate athlete, meeting many of her cherished friends through playing volleyball, taking part in several marathons, and swimming competitively.

She would meet Rick through the University of Calgary swim team, and marry shortly after graduating, on June 2, 1979.

Her enthusiasm for sport carried on through all of her children as a proud “hockey mom”.

 

Through her early career as a high school teacher, Tara left a lasting impact on many of her students as they similarly transitioned into adulthood.

Even in retirement, she continued to volunteer in her children’s school programs and classrooms.

 

Tara’s care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home, Arnprior.

A Celebration of her Life will be arranged in the near future.
