Obituary of Ed Pinnell
PINNELL, Edward Albee “Ed”
It is with great sadness the family announces that Ed passed away peacefully at the Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior on Saturday evening, June 22nd, 2024. He was 64.
Edward Albee Pinnell was born Jan 22nd, 1960 in Montreal (Lachine) Quebec. He was proud of his time with the Royal Canadian Hussars reserve before graduating from McGill with a B. Eng (Hons, mech) in 1982.
On graduation he worked briefly with Dofasco Steel in Hamilton, Ontario before returning to McGill to complete his M. Eng in 1986.
He went on to work with Canadair performing stress analysis on their water bomber.
On July 18th, 1987 he married Rosemary Drziak a registered Nurse at the cardiac ward of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. In 1988 they moved to Arnprior to raise a family.
Ed worked at Boeing, for a number of years before joining the National Research Council as an aerospace engineer.
He also ran as a candidate in the Reform Party of Canada for the riding of Renfrew-Nipising-Pembroke in both the 1993 and 1997 elections.
Ed is survived by his wife of almost 37 years, Rosemary Drziak, their sons Rolf and Hans Pinnell, daughter Erika Pinnell (Dylan DiMonte) and proud Papa of Anna DiMonte.
He is also survived by his brothers John Peter (m. Victoria Chandler), Richard James and brother-in-law of Stephen Drziak (m. Jacquelyn Samsel).
He is fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend thanks to all of the staff at the Grove Nursing home, Physician Dr. Fishman, PSW Donna Langford, and numerous other healthcare staff who have taken care of Ed over the past 8 years.
He will be missed by all that knew him.
Ed’s care and arrangements were entrusted to the
Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior
where visitation took place on Saturday morning, June 29th from 9:30 to 10:45.
A Funeral Service was held in the Pilon Family Chapel Saturday at 11 o’clock.
The service was webcast live for those unable to attend.
Reception followed. Interment Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior.
