Obituary of Daphne Skinner

(nee King)

 

With great sadness, the family announces that Daphne passed away suddenly but very peacefully at home on Saturday afternoon, July 13, 2024; Daphne Onita Skinner, a longtime resident of Arnprior was 88 years of age.

Beloved wife of the late Evans Skinner who predeceased her November 23, 2021.

Dearly loved and proud mother of Ian (Stephanie), Gregory, Leslie (Laurie Young). 

Cherished Grandmother “Grammie” of Alexi and Christina.

 

Daphne was born in Barbados, the only child of the late Jefferson and Amelia (nee Gibson) King. She was a longtime and familiar nurse at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital.

She attended births, deaths and every event in between while spending most of her life in the service of others.

A selfless and giving woman, Daphne will be remembered for her warmth and kindness and the way she genuinely respected others.

A gentle soul has gone to rest.

 

Daphne’s final arrangements were entrusted to the care of the

Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior

where visitation was held on Thursday evening, July 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday morning, July 19th from 9:30-10:15 a.m.

A Service to honour and remember Daphne took place in the Pilon Family Chapel at 10:30.

The service was webcast live for those unable to attend.

A reception followed.

Private family interment Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior.
