Obituary of Ann Godin

(nee Kasaboski) on July 16, 2024.

Ann has finally laid down her sword and is joining her husband of 60 years, Terry who passed away in April of this year.

She was a loving mother to Laurel (Mike) Neill and Heather (Tim) Harvey and grandmother to Kaitlyn, Madison, Connor and Ryan.

She will be greatly missed by her brother Andy (Beth) who donated Ann his bone marrow in 1986, giving her a second chance at life, and her baby sister Joan Cybulski (Basil) who has lost her sister and a close friend.

Ann was predeceased by her father Norman, and her mother Catherine (Kay).

Ann was surrounded by a community of friends from her childhood in Renfrew, the class of 1969 Lorraine School of Nursing friends, her neighbors surrounding her home of 52 years in Stittsville, and the many friends from her summer home on the Miss B Haven at Clarks Marina in Gananoque.

Ann’s birthday was July 1st, a national holiday celebrated with parades, fireworks, and crowds of people wearing red, her favorite color.

Her family would gather and treat the Canada Day celebrations as though they were for her.  She always loved her birthdays.

The family managed to get one final celebration at home with Ann before she spent her remaining days at the Hospice in Renfrew.

For almost 40 years, Ann’s ability to conquer each and every challenge cancer tossed her way kept her family and friends in awe.

Through it all, Ann always led a joyful life and truly believed “if you look good - you feel good”.

The family would like to thank the numerous teams of doctors who have cared for Ann over the years.

We love you Mom/Grannie Annie.

Ann’s final care and arrangements were entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior

where visitation was held on Tuesday evening, July 23rd from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by a twilight service to honor and remember Ann in the Pilon Family Chapel at 8:15 p.m.

Everyone was welcome to attend.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church, Renfrew on Wednesday morning at 10:30 followed by interment in St. Francis Xavier Parish Cemetery.
