Obituary of Mackie McLaren

With immense sadness and shattered hearts, the family announces that Mackie passed away suddenly at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital on Friday morning, August 30, 2024. He was only 72 years of age.
Beloved husband for over 46 years of Joanne (nee Herrick).
Dearly loved and admired Dad of Sarah McLaren (Andrew Caldwell) and Brian McLaren.
Fondly remembered step grandfather of Andrea and Barry Caldwell.
Much loved brother of Neil (Bev) of Braeside and Marion Wilkinson (late Doug) of Renfrew.
Predeceased by his brother Bill.
Special brother-in-law of Mary-Catherine Eva (Doug), late Jeffrey Herrick (Sonia Gorassini), Donna Symington (Rod) and Anita Schnurr (Don).
Also survived and greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and so many wonderful friends.
Son of the late Cameron and Jean (nee Storie) McLaren.
Mackie was a wonderful witness of God’s grace and humility as he spent his life in the service of others.
Gone far too soon.
Family and friends are invited to honour Mackie and his family during visitation to be held at the
Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior
on Tuesday, September 3rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. only.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church, 339 Plaunt Street, Renfrew on Wednesday morning, September 4th at 11 o’clock followed by a reception in the St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall.
Interment is scheduled to take place at the Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock.
Members of the Knights of Columbus will assemble at the funeral home for prayers on Tuesday afternoon at 3:45 p.m.
