Angela and family and the Murphy family, so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. As a fellow Optimist Club member, Ed and I share a lot of the same core values, love of family, friends and community. He was a strong presence in the club and always offered to help wherever he could. Ed was one of the guys that always brought a "spark" to our meeting to get members invested in whatever endeavour we were entertaining to undertake. His positive optimistic outlook was infectious which lead to many, many successful undertakings by our club. Always fun to be around, Ed had a great sense of self and a wonderful sense of humor. He personified, our club's motto "Friend of Youth". Clearly if you ever met Ed, you would know that he was a friend to many and a mentor to even more. He was a great football coach to our son at ADHS and brought out the best in all the players he coached. Winning was fun, but even in losing, Ed always took the positives out of the game and shared them willing to the players to ease the loss. I know how much our son and fellow players looked up to Ed and that was a big reason for it. Sending condolences to all of Ed's family and friends as this very difficult time

Our heartfelt condolences to Ed’s family. I grew up in the neighbourhood with the Murph’s and was a friend of Tom’s as my siblings were with his. I encountered Ed regularly over the yrs and often chatted about our pride for this great community. Ed also knew my sons from their years as ADHS REDMEN and coached Justin. Sending my love and condolences to Angie and all of Ed's family. Ed was always such a caring, joyful, and thoughtful uncle, and I always looked forward to seeing him at family gatherings. I wanted to share a memory I've been thinking of a lot these past few days from an Easter many years ago. Both Ed and Angie hosted a "teenage" themed Easter egg hunt for me on their property, where instead of chocolate they hid coolers for me to find. I remember thinking he was the coolest and just so funny and kind. I will miss you very much Ed.
