So sad to get the news about Ed…Such strong, wonderful memories of “Murph”. I will miss his sense of humour and constant optimism. He was a loyal friend.
I remember that every Christmas he would drop off his mom’s famous gum drop cake and we would spend time telling stories, laughing, and talking about the future.
I’m glad to have been part of your story Ed-thanks. Love you.

Ed and I grew up on the same street (MacDonald St) and we hung around with the
same friends all through out high school. He was also my Best Man.
When I recall those years, the memories that stand out the most are the bands we loved (YES (his favorite), Led Zeppelin, BTO, April Wine, Chilliwack) and shamelessly "Air Guitared" whenever the opportunity presented itself ,
the Cheech and Chong album that we played a million times and our continuous recital of all
the funniest lines any where and any time, the amazing french fries that Ed would cook up in an old pot of grease on his
Mom's old stove and share with me when hanging out at his home on McDonald St while listening to YES
cranked as loud as we could get it, his love for motorcycles , his unwavering love for the Argos who broke his heart numerous times and epitomized the phrase "Snatch Defeat from the Jaws of Victory" and his boundless enthusiasm for life, community and friends..
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Again, To Angela, our sincere condolences to you and your family.

I had the honour of being the Master of Ceremonies at Angie and Ed’s wedding and his brother-in-law. Ed embraced life to the fullest. He ran with the Olympic torch and filled Angie’s heart with light. He flew flags of the local country when family were away travelling, and now he’s earned his heavenly flag. Ed was Mr. Community acting Iocal plays, proudly participating in the town archives and other historical days. I fondly remember going to a Redblacks game with Ed and at halftime watching in awe as everyone came up to him to say “hi coach”. He was a kind and jovial uncle to my daughters.
Will miss you dearly Ed.

Dear Angela please accept my deepest and most sincere condolences in this very difficult time. I worked with Ed for almost 18 years. Looking back at alll these years I only could remember wonderful memories from Ed. He was such a nice gentelman. My first memory of him was actually from a time I even didn't know him. I clearly recall my interview day at Tenxc, feeling nervous and waiting for the second interviewer to come that I saw this gentelman with broad smile waving hands to me from behind the glass door. It made me feel much more relax. That gentelman was Ed Murphy : A kind soul who always volunteer to make every one around him feel happy and safe. From that day on for me as an immigrant in Canada with no extended family Ed was like a big brother who always gave me hope and encouraged me. He was a very professional PCB designer. So exact and intelligent. Writing this I still can not believe I am not going to see and work with him any more. I hope his soul is now in infinite peace and happines. My prayers are with you and the family. I hope god give you and your family patience in this very difficult time. Take care. Nasrin Hojjat , principal antenna engineer , CCI products

Ed was one-of-a-kind.....he will never be replaced. I will always remember his laugh and the mischievous twinkle in his eye. His dedication to the history of the Town of Arnprior is to be commended. He did an amazing job with the historic town tours. He had so much fun in his acting debut in "Arnprior's History on Stage" ....playing an historic town councillor who (I think this is correct)....married a "Havey Girl". Ed was lucky to marry his own "Havey Girl".....Angela it was so evident what a special bond you shared. Take comfort in the wonderful memories. Angela and family and the Murphy family, so sorry to hear of Ed's passing.
As a fellow Optimist Club member, Ed and I share a lot of the same core values, love of family, friends and community. He was a strong presence in the club and always offered to help wherever he could. Ed was one of the guys that always brought a "spark" to our meeting to get members invested in whatever endeavour we were entertaining to undertake. His positive optimistic outlook was infectious which lead to many, many successful undertakings by our club. Always fun to be around, Ed had a great sense of self and a wonderful sense of humor. He personified, our club's motto "Friend of Youth". Clearly if you ever met Ed, you would know that he was a friend to many and a mentor to even more. He was a great football coach to our son at ADHS and brought out the best in all the players he coached. Winning was fun, but even in losing, Ed always took the positives out of the game and shared them willing to the players to ease the loss. I know how much our son and fellow players looked up to Ed and that was a big reason for it. Sending condolences to all of Ed's family and friends as this very difficult time

I wanted to share a memory I've been thinking of a lot these past few days from an Easter many years ago. Shocked to hear this news. Always enjoyed talking Argos and US college football with Ed. His love of football especially the Argos and Irish. Will miss our chats. Thoughts and prayers to Angela and the rest of the Murphy and Havey families.
