Matt came into my life when he was in grade 8 at Fitzroy Centennial Public School and I worked as an assistant in the office. He was one of my favourites and I always enjoyed his visits to the office - when he was getting picked up early, not because he was in trouble! He became friends with my son so I was able to follow his progress as he grew up into a fine young man. He was taken too soon and will be missed by many and I extend my condolences to his family and friends. Rest easy, Matt.
I remember Matt as a little boy. This young boy grew into a caring, generous young man who loved his family so very much.

I remember Matt as a quiet & gentle soul in my junior and senior kindergarten class at FHPS. He loved to take the little belt of ‘handy man’ tools and climb to the top of our play structure. When I asked him what he was doing he’d tell me he was fixing the barn’’. It is memories like this that remain near and dear to my heart. Rest easy Matt, you were taken far too soon and you will be dearly missed by those who loved you. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
This is Matt his first day as my helper in the trade. He was a great guy. Used to talk sleds all the time in the shack. Broke my heart to hear this, I had a lot of good memories with him. My condolences. See ya on the other side brother. Homsey.
Matty was a tough nut to crack. I’d like to say he let me get as close as anyone could get. Matty was a kind and gentle soul. He was a just a wonderful human being. The kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back and never want anything in return. Matty and I met as two broken individuals who would go on to date sisters who would come to make us whole again. He always treated my children as if they were his own and my little Thora is just devastated with the news that he’s gone. During this time my heart breaks for his Mother and father, Brother and Sister, and his immediate family, Heather and Clayton. I am so sorry. Life isn’t fair and this isn’t fair. I want you all to know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers as I pass our deepest condolences to you all. Matty will continue to live on through his beautiful boy Clayton. When I miss him, this is where I will go to be close with him again, to reconnect. I’m so thankful we got to share fatherhood together with our little cousins and you’ll be forever missed Matty. You are no longer in pain, and for this I am thankful. Rest in peace Matty, I love you brother. BDS

Condolences to the Whole Family! Matt was my cousin and I LOVED HIM DEARLY! He loved His Paw very much so was always working HARD on Tha Farm! Id better get home b4 Tha old man tears me a new one haha! I love old Allan and the whole family! Matt touched everyone he encountered with his huge caring heart and soul! Watching a very young Matt on my ol blizzard skidoo come up the lane and not wanting the” bubble pig” to come in first, an aggressive pass was made. Albeit his feet were above bars, he didn’t let off! Priceless!
I first met Matt when Steve brought him on a elevator sled trip, right away it was quite apparent that he was a valley lad,wholesome, fun loving, hardworking and trustworthy. Rest in piece brother
